URICM, Gandhinagar has been conducting the two years Post Graduate Diploma in Management- Agribusiness (PGDM-ABM)since 2008.The centre is focused on fabricating young minds coming from different academic background and with diverse skills to complete within the competitive corporate world. The programme aims to groom prospective managers with the right conceptual foundations, analytical skills and application abilities to help organizations attain and maintain the crucial competitive edge with managers who can lead from the front. Agribusiness Management at URICM encompasses the study of agriculture and business concepts necessary for a successful career in the agribusiness sector and with government agencies. Some examples of career opportunities available to PGDM Agribusiness Management include agriculture marketing, Retailing, agricultural finance, International trading in agriculture, cooperative managers and entrepreneurs.
The PGDM-ABM is a two year full time course spread over six trimesters. The PGDM course is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The PGDM programme is designed on the principle that a proper balance of theory and practice is needed to aid managerial skill formation for effective decision-making and problem solving in the globalised environment. The programme aims to train the students to be competent managers and to inculcate qualities required for effective leadership of organizations.
The programme comprises of two segments, viz. Classrooms lectures and practical exposure through Summer Internship, Live project, Seminars, Observation Study tours and Project work. This unremitting assessment enables the students to implement corrective measures at the right time and meet the standard of performance prescribed by PGDM committee.
The programme is designed with classroom teaching component, integrating case method pedagogy. 36 credits have to be completed in six terms. 24 credits of subjects are offered in core management areas and 12 credits for specialization subjects, 2 credit courses are devoted for project course to equip students to take challenging course in Agri-Business sector.
In addition, the Institute provides soft skills training and an online MS-Office certification course.

The total programme cost for a period of two years is Rs. 3,70,000/-*. This fee includes tuition fee, examination fee, computer charges, and hostel accommodation charges for two years, cost of books, cost of industrial visits, etc. Apart from this, a laptop is must for all the students. The approximate cost of laptop may be Rs. 40,000/- which is not included in the fee. The boarding charge for 1st Year is Rs. 90,000/- is paid in advance along with first term fees. 2nd Year Boarding and Lodging Charges of Rs. 90,000/- to be paid in advance along with fourth term fees.

Note:
One course credit is equivalent to 28-30 contact sessions of 70 minutes each and requires the student to put in at least 80 hours of work outside the classroom.
The students are required to complete basic course in computers like MS-Office before joining the Programme.
